Act As If It Were So

DISCUSS & ENGAGE THE SCRIPTURES

Click here for a link to all Scripture references from the message. Any not included are linked below.

1. Read Romans 1:16 and Matthew 9:35. The gospel is the availability of the kingdom through the person and work of Jesus. It’s a movement of hope for all of creation. How has the gospel taken hold of you, and how have you taken hold of it?

2. The Three Circles are a picture of the gospel all throughout the Bible. As you reflect with this tool, consider your daily life and share what God is revealing to you about the questions below. You can even take a moment as a circle to fill in what you believe about the gospel in your life using the blank image here.

  • Identity (Romans 5:19) | What do you believe about who you are in Jesus?
  • Relationship (Hebrews 4:16) | Do you know God, and does He know you? What does that relationship look like?
  • Purpose (Genesis 1:28) | What do you believe about what you were created for?

How is God inviting you to act as if this (the gospel) were so in your daily life (Titus 2:11-14)?

3. Read Matthew 7:21-23. Salvation, or to be “saved,” means to be rescued from destruction and restored to its original purpose. Remember: in Jesus, we are saved, are being saved, and will be saved. What is the Holy Spirit saying to you about salvation?

PRAY

Jesus, thank You for the gospel of the kingdom. May we act as if it were so in our lives, through faith, every day.
