A season is a God-ordained, set time with divine purpose. As you reflect on where you are right now, how does God seem to be answering these questions? - God, what season am I in?- God, what is this season for?- God, how do I arrange my life around You in this season? And as you reflect on those answers, how is it different from your perspective of the season you're in? 2. Read 1 Corinthians 7:17. God has assigned each of us a particular season. Where do you sense God inviting you to become more aware of Him in this season? 3. Read Luke 12:54-56. Here, Jesus warns us about missing the bigger picture of what God is doing. What part of your current season are you fighting against or wishing were different? What would it look like to receive it instead of resisting it?

Are You Enjoying God and His Church?

1. Throughout Scripture, God's people shared stories of God's faithfulness and the ways He had worked in their lives. On June 28, we celebrated people taking a step into baptism and declaring, "Jesus is Lord, and I will follow Him."- What is your baptism story?- If you haven't been baptized yet, what is the Holy Spirit revealing to you about baptism? 2. Read Philippians 1:6. God is always at work in our lives. As you look ahead to the rest of the summer, what is one next step you sense God inviting you to take, or one area where you want to continue growing with Him? 3. Read Psalm 103:1-5. Throughout the summer, we've been practicing celebration by paying attention and calling attention to the goodness of God. How has this practice impacted you, and how can you continue it throughout the rest of the summer?

Take time to thank God for His goodness, faithfulness, and the work He is doing in your life. Pray that we would continue to enjoy God and the life He is giving us, becoming more aware of His presence, goodness, and joy every day.

Where do you see that kind of “one life” with Jesus in your life right now? Where do you feel tension between different versions of yourself in different places? 3. Humility, gratitude, and margin are three things that help us build a life of rest. Which one is the Holy Spirit highlighting, and what does He want to say? 4. Read Leviticus 23:22. God tells His people not to harvest all the way to the edges of their field, and He invites us to do the same in the way we build our lives. What might it look like for you to arrange or rearrange your life so there’s margin for God and people?

What would it look like for your giving to actually cost you something? If you’ve made a commitment, how is it going? If not, is God stirring you to participate in this way?- Take one tangible next step of faith each year over the next four years. For those here for year one, what was your next step and what did God do in you? What step of faith do you sense God calling you to this year? 3. Read Hebrews 12:29 and 1 Corinthians 3:12-14. God is a consuming fire, and one day our lives will pass through that fire. What are you creating with God right now that you believe will last?

Jesus, let there be a people whose hearts are on fire for You and who use their lives and resources to create the future for the good of others and the glory of God.

How Do You Know If Your Fire Is Real?

Valley Creek 101 is next Sunday. If you’re new, have never attended, or know someone new, this is a great next step. Take a minute as a circle to talk about who you can invite. Also, celebrate anyone joining your circle for the first time and those who invited them! Let’s keep building a culture of invitation and asking God who He wants to be in your circle.

(1 Kings 18:36-39, 1 Peter 1:7)- Where do you see evidence of God’s work in your life right now?- How is your faith being refined in this season? 3. Fire falls on sacrifice. (1 Kings 18:33-35, Romans 12:1, and Psalms 51:17)- Your sacrifice could be time, money, treasure, or your heart. What is God inviting you to place on the altar right now, and what does that look like?- Do you offer God your Sabbath and tithe? If not, why? 4. Fire is missional. (1 Kings 18:39)- If the fire of God burned more brightly in your life, who might be impacted? 5. Fire creates an open heaven. (1 Kings 18:41-45)- We can’t do anything without God, and He won’t do it without us. What would it look like for you to prepare and pray in this season?

What does “glory to glory” look like for you right now, and what is the “to” God is asking you to deal with? 3. Read Ephesians 4:29-30. We can tell if our fire is out or not by the words we use and the conversations we have. What have your conversations been full of lately, and are they fueling or quenching your fire? 4. Read Luke 24:25-27. We all have areas where we can be slow of heart – where we hear what God has said but hesitate to fully believe it. With that in mind, where is God inviting you to be quick to repent? 5. Our fire doesn't grow when we learn more about our own lives. Our fire grows by learning more about Jesus, looking at the cross, and consuming God's Word. So this week, how is the Holy Spirit inviting you to fuel your fire?

Bitterness can harden our hearts, and hard hearts don’t burn. If you feel like there's bitterness or hardness in your heart, share that as an act of humility. Then, by faith, pray Ezekiel 36:26 over one another.

Do You Remember What It Was Like?

Mission is using all of my life to help people discover and experience the availability of the kingdom of God through the person and work of Jesus. Use this definition as you invite the Holy Spirit into the questions below! 1. Read Luke 5:17-26. In this story, we see the broken man, the four friends, the crowd, and the Pharisees. Who do you relate to most in this story in this season of your life, and who do you want to become? 2. Read 1 Timothy 1:12-14 TLB. Forgetfulness is the greatest barrier to mission. When we’re intentional in remembering what Jesus has done in our lives, we can’t help but share that with others. How has your life changed since you met Jesus? How does reflecting on who you were before Jesus help you have compassion for others who don’t know Him yet? 3. Read Matthew 4:19 and Luke 19:10. Mission is personal, inconvenient, and messy. Jesus demonstrated that this isn’t an interruption to our work – it is our work. What is the Holy Spirit revealing to you about your natural response to this reality of mission? Read Matthew 28:19-20. This weekend, we celebrated people responding to the gospel by taking a next step into the waters of baptism! They declared, "Jesus is Lord, and I will follow Him.” How did seeing others step forward in faith inspire you on your own journey with Jesus?&nbsp; 2. During our weekend experience, we practiced asking, listening, and responding to the questions below. Process through them as a circle to share what the Holy Spirit is doing in your life.<ul><li>What has the Holy Spirit been saying to you during this collection of talks so far? </li><li>What was the last tangible next step you took with Jesus? </li><li>What is the next tangible step Jesus is inviting you to? </li></ul>If you take one of the 10 foundational next steps we hope everyone takes on their journey with Jesus, share that with your circle so you can plan a time to celebrate together on Sunday! You can pick up a marker at the info tower, then head to the movement board with your whole circle to mark your move and cheer each other on in community. What is Jesus inviting you to now?&nbsp;&nbsp; 3. Read Matthew 7:24-27 and Matthew 11:28-30. When you feel weary or worn out, are you more tempted to swing toward busyness or passive apathy? What would it look like to find true rest by moving with Jesus instead?&nbsp; 4. Read Mark 10:52. Moments with God are meant to lead to movement with Him. Can you share a time when a moment did or didn’t become real movement in your life? What made the difference?&nbsp; 5. Read Psalm 23 and Psalms 32:8. God speaks in sentences, not paragraphs. What next step is God inviting you to take, and are you willing to walk in obedience in that step? 3. Read Matthew 4:19. We move, and God makes. How can you ask, listen, and respond to what God is inviting you to each day to live a “with-God” life?

Life transformation happens in Circles, and we want everyone to experience that! Who is one person you can commit to inviting to our circle this semester? Take time to pray over those people. If you don’t know yet, pray for God to give you eyes to see them. Wrap it all up with a prayer that we may all live a life in step with the Spirit by faith in Jesus’ name.

It’s a movement of hope for all of creation. What is the Holy Spirit saying to you about salvation?
