God With Us
DISCUSS & ENGAGE THE SCRIPTURES
Start with a prayer, welcoming in the Holy Spirit and taking a moment to acknowledge that God is already with you in your Circle.
1. Read Matthew 1:21-23. God is with you. What would it look like for you to live like that was true for you today?
2. The truth that God is with us has three significant meanings: it makes us fearless (Psalms 23:4 NASB), it reminds us that there’s no distance between us and God (Colossians 1:21-22), and it proves that God isn’t disappointed in us (Romans 8:11). Which of these is the easiest for you to believe, and which challenges you the most? Why?
As you reflect, think about the thoughts or phrases you might use in everyday life, like: “I’m afraid… I feel so disconnected… I’m lonely… I’m not enough…”
3. Read John 14:16 AMP and Isaiah 7:11,14. What else is the Holy Spirit saying to you about the promise of “God with us”?
PRAY
Thank You, Jesus, for the gift of Your name. May we remember that You are with us!
