1. Read Matthew 16:13-18. Below are two kingdom definitions of “church”. What is church to you? How do these definitions change your view of Jesus and the church? 

Church (noun): The people of God, united by the spirit of God, under the Lordship of Jesus, sent on mission to bring the hope of the kingdom to the world.

Church (verb): 

• We meet with God
• We serve each other as the body of Christ
• We grow as disciples and make disciples

2. Our vision at Valley Creek is to be a movement of hope for the city and beyond. Our strategy is raising up generations of hope carriers. We are Jesus-focused, Spirit-filled, and Life-giving.

• Why are you part of this church, and why does this matter to you? (Ephesians 2:21-22)
• Where is God inviting you to become the culture and move towards living as a movement of hope? (2 Corinthians 3:18 NKJV)

3. At Valley Creek we do 5 things as the church. As you consider the definitions above and these five things, how is God inviting you to “do” church differently as you arrange and rearrange your life around Jesus this fall? (1 Corinthians 2:2-5, Ephesians 5:25-27)
