What’s up Valley Creek Students you are at student circles where we discuss the weekend message, read the scriptures and pray together. And we’re so glad you’re here because this weekend we rolled out our word, our theme for the year.

Every year as a leadership team, we seek God on what He wants to do and where he wants to lead our church for the year, and when God speaks, when He gives us a word, a theme, it means that there is a supernatural grace and a favor for it in your life, if you choose to lean into it.

And our theme for the year is kingdom momentum. The world and the church at large has been in a two year run of apathy, of fear, of offenses and of complaining.

In a sense, we’ve lost our momentum, we’ve lost our force, our excitement for life and relationship with God. But we believe that God wants to breathe a fresh wind into your sails, to get you back in the game, off the sidelines, get you moving forward again in Jesus name. Check this out….

*Video*

You can tell if you have momentum just by asking this question - is it easier to do the thing than to not? If you have momentum in your relationships, it’s easier to build godly relationships than it is to isolate. If you have momentum in your relationship with God, it’s actually harder to not read the Bible than it is to read the Bible. If you have momentum in engaging God’s mission, it’s easier to talk to the lonely person at school than it is to just be cliquey with your friends.

And in Jesus’ name, it’s time for us to have the winning mindset that God created us to have. The church for the past few years has had a loser’s mindset of being on the defensive, expecting for things to go bad, expecting to lose, expecting the kingdom of darkness to have more of a hold on culture and our minds than God.

But Jesus says that the kingdom is forcefully advancing, that the gates of hell will not overcome his church. So, the church needs to have the mindset of “give me the ball, if I get the ball I will win”. If that classmate gets introduced to me then they will find Jesus because of how I live my life. If I get put in that class, then I will change the spiritual Atmosphere. You put me and my squad in my school and will win the whole thing for Jesus. & that’s not just positive thinking or “manifestation” it’s a confidence that comes when you have kingdom momentum. And maybe you’re not there yet and that’s OK, but this is God’s invitation for us to lean in together, do the work of character and obedience, so that everything we do has kingdom momentum. You’ve gotta catch that the people in your life can’t want this more for you than you do! You’ve gotta lay down preferences, selfishness, offenses and fear and grab a hold of the Kingdom momentum that comes from unity, sacrifice, forgiveness and love.

So come on Valley Creek Students, raise your sails, for the fresh wind of Jesus is blowing.

So, let’s turn to our tables and talk about it.
