There are three choices we can make to overcome selfishness:<ol><li>Choose God as our God (Matthew 6:24).<ul><li>In your daily life, what does it look like for you to choose God as your God?</li></ul><ul><li>What are the things that want to sneak into your life and become an idol before you realize it (your job, hobbies, kids, finances, etc.)?</li></ul></li><li>Choose His people to be your people (Hebrews 10:24-25 and Galatians 5:13).<ul><li>Have you chosen the people of Valley Creek to be your people?</li></ul><ul><li>If so, how are they helping you live a life of servanthood? When you think about your relationship with Jesus, do you relate more to Peter (the disciple who loved Jesus) or John (the disciple whom Jesus loved)? Why?3. Read 1 John 4:18. Perfect love drives out fear. Where is fear showing up in your life right now – in thoughts, decisions, or relationships? What does God’s love want to remind you of in that place?4. God’s love isn’t something we just learn about – it’s a revelation and encounter with the presence of God. As you read Romans 8:38-39, what is the Holy Spirit showing you? Take a moment to breathe, then pray Ephesians 3:17-19 together. As you read it slowly, ask the Holy Spirit to help each of you grasp more of His love, not just with your mind but with your heart.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;the measure of all the fullness of God.

Embracing the Mess

We are a family on mission. We’re beloved sons and daughters releasing our Father’s kingdom. Creating the future together can get messy, so there are three things that are the framework for what we need to be a healthy family. We must have a passion to:1. For those who have made a commitment to this Missional Move, there are three ways to frame the journey ahead as we begin. If you haven’t yet made a commitment, take time to reflect on what God is saying to you through our Missional Move invitations.&nbsp;1. Walk it out by faith. Read <a target="_blank" href="https://www.bible.com/bible/111/HEB.11.1" alt="Hebrews 11:1">Hebrews 11:1</a>. Faith is to act as if God were so.<ul><li>As you consider the commitment you’ve made, what is your biggest challenge? What truth about who God is will you need to believe to move forward by faith?</li><li>In what areas of life are you more sure of what you have than what you hope for or more certain of what you see instead of what you don’t?</li></ul>2. Pass the tests. Read <a target="_blank" href="https://www.bible.com/bible/111/JAS.1.2-4" alt="James 1:2-4" class="on">James 1:2-4</a>. God exposes and reveals our hearts through tests so He can heal and restore us.<ul><li>What tests have you already encountered, and did you pass or fail them? Are you currently in a test? If so, how’s it going?</li><li>Where are you more concerned about your pass/fail rate than seeing the test as helping you become like Jesus?</li></ul>3. Look for Jesus along the way. Read <a target="_blank" href="https://www.bible.com/bible/111/MAT.7.21-23" alt="Matthew 7:21-23">Matthew 7:21-23</a>. The whole point of this missional move is to meet with Jesus.<ul><li>What is one thing you can do to remind yourself that you’re creating the future with God and not for God? </li></ul>

It's Time to Move

We are a movement of hope for the city and beyond. A movement is thousands of people writing the same story at the same time.

1. We believe God has called Valley Creek Church to do five things in the next five years as Missional Move: Create the Future. A missional move is when someone takes their next step so someone else can take theirs. Which of the five things are you most excited about contributing to, and why?<ul><li>Prayer Center</li><li>Training Center</li><li>Argyle Campus</li><li>University Campus</li><li>7-Continent Strategy</li></ul>2. God With Us

Start with a prayer, welcoming in the Holy Spirit and taking a moment to acknowledge that God is already with you in your Circle.1. What would it look like for you to live like that was true for you today?2. Confession & Repentance

For those who did the practice plan last week, how did it go? What did you learn about yourself and God?

Start your Circle with prayer, inviting the Holy Spirit in. Read <a target="_blank" href="https://www.bible.com/bible/111/JAS.5.16" alt="James 5:16">James 5:16</a> and <a target="_blank" href="https://www.bible.com/bible/111/2PE.1.3" alt="2 Peter 1:3" class="on">2 Peter 1:3</a>. Confession is agreement with God. Repentance is acting with God. Instead of discussing confession and repentance, we’ll actually walk it out together by doing the practice plan below.

By grace through faith, confess your sins to someone, then share with them your plan to repent. As people in your Circle confess their sins and their plans to repent, respond with, “In Jesus’ name, you are fully forgiven and free. May His divine power give you everything you need for life and godliness.” Remember: it’s not our responsibility to coach, correct, or counsel them.

What Is Church?
